Who are we talking to and what is your role in Blood Youth?
Hey, this is Kaya Tarsus and I’m the vocalist of Blood Youth!

How has the current tour with Bury Tomorrow gone so far?
The tour with Bury Tomorrow was so great. We’re super close with those guys and talked about touring together for such a long time, we’re really stoked it finally happened. Its always great to play huge shows in the EU/UK, it’s even better when you get to do it with your friends.

Tell us something about your new track „Playing The Victim“ – Any personal experiences you had to cope with or someone you had to help?
PTV is about personal battles. You can either let the bad times keep you down, or you just face it and build. It’s about not letting the bad times grind you down, something I have been guilty of many times in the past.

Can we expect a new full-length soon? Or is the new song coming off the back of „Starve“?
PTV was a stand-alone single. We had it locked away for a while, so we were stoked when it was finally released. I’m not allowed to say too much about what we have planned next, but it’s all moving forward and I’m really looking forward to the next chapter of BY.

How did Blood Youth initially form?
We all grew up in the same small town and played in different bands around our heavy music scene. We just gravitated towards each other and eventually formed BY. Our hometown isn’t really known for its heavy music so it was only a matter of time before we all met and made music.

What is the funniest story you’ve recently experienced as a band? Doesn’t matter if on stage or on the ride to the next venue or just in the practice room.
There have been so many crazy moments, It’s really difficult to choose one story. One of my favourite memories is when we were on tour over Christmas with Caliban. We had our Christmas dinner in a petrol station in Munich. We all sat around and ate instant noodles in the cold. That memory really makes me proud, it always reminds me how much we all sacrifice and how hard we work in this band.

What is your best and worst fan story?
We just really appreciate the fans that really understand what BY is all about. We love hearing your stories and what our music means to you. All the passion and energy. We will always meet and talk with fans after a show, we honestly appreciate everything and all the support.

What is your touring highlight?
Touring with our heroes to playing the biggest festivals in the world, it’s really hard to pick one! One of my all-time highlights was when we played an arena with Prophets of Rage. That was a really big step for us as a band. It was incredible to play a show and talk with the musicians that were on our walls on posters when we were growing up.

Where do you see yourself and the band in 5 years?
As long as we’re still touring all over the place and creating the music we want to create, we’re happy. We want to see our fanbase get bigger and bigger, and just continue to do what we love.

Now, please share your favorite…
